BUMPS
was custom built in 1972 by Miller
Rail Works in Deltaville, Virginia.
BUMPS features one
main stateroom, 2 full baths plus jacquzzi tub. The crew has separate
quarters below with breakfast nook and full bath. Sleeping accomodations
offer 8 areas including 2 singles, 4 twins, a double pull-out and a king
in the master suite. There are 4, 300 gallon aluminum fuel tanks and
3, 300 gallon water tanks. Offshore electric is supplied by a single
33 KW Northern Lights generator. For year around
comfort,
BUMPS
has 6 zone heat pumps and central
air conditioning.
BUMPS
arsenal of equipment includes 2 redundant GPS
computer navigation systems, radar, forward scanning sonar, 2 25 watt
low-power and 2 1500 watt high-power VHF/UHF marine and amateur radio
communications systems, a 1500 watt short wave radio offshore communications
system, high speed DSL wireless network router serving 4 onboard computer
stations, wireless internet live-camera surveilence system, computer assisted
X-10 remote control lighting system, 6 station wireless intercom system,
a 73,000 song selection MP3 music system feeding 20 pairs of stereo speakers
and an onboard low power FM radio transmitter.
